Jonah Wright is the new voice of unconventional individuals. He grew up in Denmark and Germany among the boys and girls of the street, and his Tourette's was like a stumbling block in front of him. But when he found music, he found his voice. Music is both a balancing act and a vent for a young man who has lived a life unlike others - and therefore writes songs unlike others. He spent his childhood in Germany, where he was regularly cared for by the local "sweet-ass" brothel mother, while in Denmark, he found a community on the street. He draws on a hip-hop background, his punk upbringing, and his love for double-entendre crooners, who is smokes and mirrors privately, but as soon as he sings, he tells the truth. For everyone involved, it has been a driving force to bring Jonah Wright's stories forward, and as the former poetry slammer he is, the words flow as soon as he hears the right chord or topline. He moves freely between rap and singing, but today singing is his primary tool. Now he collaborates with some of the best producers in Denmark, and is ready with his impulsive mix of pop, country, rap, and punk. And the story has only just begun. There are a number of songs ready and the 24-year old debutant is not in doubt of to whom he wants to be the voice of as they are rolled out: “All the unconventional individuals in the world – they are the ones we do lyrics for, they also need sound and stories that they can relate to”.
