New double album, "Vidar Vang & Bandet", released to rave reviews in the Norwegian press on May 27 2022! Singles "Livet gir, livet tar" and "Meir & mindre" is currently playlisted on heavy rotation on Norwegian radio stations NRK P1 and P13. "Vidar Vang & Bandet" is Vidar's 14th album since his debut in 1998. Northern Norwegian songwriter and artist Vidar Vang began to write songs in his early teens in Bjerkvik, a small town above the Arctic Circle in Norway. He released his unofficial, acoustic debut album “Blue” in 1998. In 2000 he moved to Oslo, together with three childhood friends, and signed his first major label deal with EMI. His Norwegian Grammy-nominated official debut album, “Rodeo” (produced by Seasick Steve and Cato “Salsa” Thomassen), was released in 2002. Vidar Vang released six albums in English, before switching to his native language with “Vårres egen lille krig” in 2015. Norwegian newspaper VG then labelled him “A songwriter in his own class”. Four albums in Norwegian followed; as well did three archival albums (unreleased material from 1998-2006) when the pandemic hit in 2020. At the same time, Vidar and the same three childhood friends from Bjerkvik who played with him on his first two albums in 2002-2004, found their way back together again. And the initial idea of making an EP... well, it turned into a double album. It's safe to say that sparks flew when they got together again!
