Toronto’s Wildlife have been captivating lovers of brazen, fully charged indie rock for over a decade. Audiences have experienced their infinitely catchy sound in the form of dramatic live shows throughout the USA and in every nook and cranny of their beloved Canadian homeland Wildlife erupted onto the stage with Strike Hard, Young Diamond in 2010. Drawing comparisons to Modest Mouse and Arcade Fire, the band carried their ethos of live inclusivity with an ever-increasing desire to tear down the barrier between artist and audience. They followed up in 2013 with On the Heart, a mixture of sweat, screams and tears from the studio of Peter Katis (The National, Interpol) and Gus Van Go (The Stills). A concept record, On the Heart is a love letter to the heart itself; its ache, strength and longing. The hit single Lightning Tent was a nation wide radio success injecting Wildlife’s signature sound into everything from beer commercials to Hollywood films. They pushed forward with Age of Everything in 2016, jumping to the top of indie rock playlists the internet over. Turning to the here and now, Wildlife is set to release their most concise, tightly wound group of songs to date. Take The Light With You was born from three summer weeks of sessions with legendary producer / mixer Dave Schiffman, with additions at the band’s second home of Threshold Studio with producer Mike Keire. The result is furious and dripping with nostalgia, punk and pretty and ethereal all at once.
