Martin Tomemitsu is a bedroom folk artist based in Los Angeles crafting dreamy lofi tunes that run from sleepy and hazy to distorted and shoegazing. Tomemitsu's singles "in dreams" and "runaway" have been featured on episodes of the HBO series High Maintenance. After being discovered on the PORTALS summer mixtape, Tomemitsu released two albums on Chill Mega Chill records, 2013's m_o_d_e_s and 2015's Loaf Eye, and a split cassette titled Had A Dream with fellow bedroom pop artist Alexei Shishkin on Forged Artifacts Records in 2017. 2016 saw the first vinyl release for tomemitsu with a remix of "In Dreams" by German house ensemble, RSS Disco, and a remaster of the single on Mireia Records, now sold out. In 2017 tomemitsu began working with Echo Orange Records in France. Tomemitsu's 2018 EP, The Cave, featured accompanying videos for each song by visionary director Cody Duncum. Tomemitsu's reinterpretation of The Magnetic Fields "I Shatter", was released as part of the No More Dysphoria benefit compilation You Can Sing Me Anything: A Tribute to 69 Love Songs on Living Statue Records. In 2019, Tomemitsu has teamed up with Friends of Friends to release “I’m just waiting for your love” featuring Dre of Steady Holiday, and “The End (of a dream)” a cover of Shlohmo’s album titled single. Now, with the world seemingly at an end, Martin brushes it all off with the release of Sun in 2021.
