PROJECT E.A.R. (EAST ASIAN REVOLUTION) To regard Project E.A.R. as a supergroup is an understatement. It is indeed the first collective of its kind, consisting of some of the best acts from the South East Asian region. But more than this, Project E.A.R. is a movement; it is the voice of a new era in global music; it is the tie that binds musicians together from continents divided by cultural, political and language barriers. Moots! from Pop Shuvit (Malaysia), Jamir from Slapshock (Philippines), and Dandee from Bangkok Invaders (Thailand) conceptualised and established Project E.A.R. as a platform to propagate this cause. United through friendship and the common goal of breaking Asian music on a global stage, the trio roped in friends from various groups around South East Asia and officially launched the collective at the MTV Asia Awards in 2008. The debut line-up of Project E.A.R. saw Pop Shuvit (Malaysia), Slapshock (Philippines), Thaitanium (Thailand), Saint Loco (Indonesia) and Ahli Fiqir (Singapore) performing a medley of songs using the official language of each of the member’s homelands (Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Malaysia, English, Tagalog and Thai). Add to that the fusing of various music genres and the boys brought the house down with what is hailed as one of the most passionate and edgiest performances in the Awards’ global history. This was followed up with their now legendary performance alongside Thirty seconds to mars at the MTV World Stage in 2011.
