Mac Lethal - A Beautiful Story About My Neighbors şarkı sözleri

Sanatçı: Mac Lethal

albüm: A Beautiful Story About My Neighbors

Every morning at 9 o'clock
An older woman named Jan
Walks right by my house
Holding her husband's hand
Now they're both in their eighties
They move slow when they walk
But both of them look so happy
They both smile as they talk
On Mondays they talk politics
Tuesdays they talk history
Wednesdays they talk family
Thursdays they share memories
On Friday & Saturday they talk pain,
I know it hurts...
On Sundays they dress nice
Cuz after walking they go to church
It doesn't matter if it's rain, or snow, or sunshine,
For years they've walked by my house everyday
And ain't missed one time
If life ever gets me down with such an unusual sting
When they walk by, it cheers me up
Their love is a beautiful thing Every morning at 9 o'clock
An older woman named Jan
Walks right by my house
Holding her husband's hand
Now they're both in their eighties
They move slow when they walk
But both of them look so happy
And that just makes me happy
One day, I looked outside,
Sipping my morning coffee
Waiting for Jan and her husband,
To walk by talking softly
20 or 30 minutes passed
And they never even appeared
I figured they took a day off or something,
I didn't think something was weird.
But the next day, and the next day, and the next day
Same scenario
Then a month went by and I didn't see them walking
Huh... where'd they go?
I'm getting a little bit worried I hope it's nothing major
I had my neighbor write their address on a piece of paper
I'm sure it's fine, I'm sure everything is fine
I'm just going to their house
To check on them to ease my mind
I walked up to their house (knock, knock, knock)
Knocked on the front door
No one answered so (knock, knock, knock)
I knocked once more.
The door finally opened and Jan said,
"Can I help you?"
I said "Hi, I'm your neighbor Mac, I'd like to tell you,
That I used to see you and your husband walking every day
And I haven't seen you in months,
I hope that everything's ok." She said
"Oh my goodness. Aren't you kind my young friend.
That's very sweet of you. By all means, come in.
Make yourself at home, would you like a cup of tea?
I can't tell you how sweet it is
That you would come check up on me.
See.
Me and my husband lived in this house for forty years
And when we bought the place
Most of the neighborhood wasn't here.
I still remember the day they laid the sidewalk,
I held my husbands arm
As we strolled through the neighborhood
Having a nice talk.
My husband. My husband's name is Pete.
Genuine and sweet, loves to listen more than speak,
You can search a million years,
But a heart like his you won't find,
A gentleman that's so kind,
Sharply dressed and so fine.
A couple months ago my husband passed away,
Peacefully died in his sleep,
Now my skies are black and gray,
And even though we don't talk anymore and I feel sad,
I still cherish the memories we had.
Every morning at 9 o'clock
An older woman named Jan
Walks right by my house, holding onto my hand
Now Jan
She's in her 80s so she moves slow when she walks
But she's very wise so I listen when she talks
On Monday we talk politics
Tuesdays we talk history
Wednesdays we talk family
Thursdays we share memories
On Fridays we tell a couple stories
Sing a couple songs
On Saturdays and Sundays
My wife and children come along.
Imagine if you were a couple years away from the end,
How nice it would be if you could make a new friend
You probably have an elderly neighbor so
Go to their house,
Knock on their door, and say "Hello."
