Biyografi
Formed in 2018 by guitarist cousins, J.T. Jasinski and Drew Kussmaul, V*A*S*E immediately sought to bring something new to rock music. Combining a love for early protopunk (The Stooges, Hawkwind), American post-punk (The Feelies, Sonic Youth), and the grunge boom of the 90s (Nirvana, Local H), the boys from Brighton, Michigan began the search for other musicians to fill out their sound. The permanent additions of vocalist, Christian Thibodeau, and bassist, Derian Parsons, gave the band a “core four” of musicians, which began playing out, albeit locally. After the COVID-19 pandemic brought a temporary end to live shows, the band made it their mission to go into the studio and record their originals. Through the help of a crowdfunding campaign spearheaded by their dedicated online fanbase, V*A*S*E released six studio singles in 2021 and 2022 that would comprise the track list of their debut EP, For the First Time.... On the strength of these singles, alone, the band was able to hit the road, which included a week long opening slot on the Midwest leg of Animal Sun’s Dream City tour, as well as being direct support for Local H on the Dallas show of the Lifers Retour. With momentum gaining, 2023 figures to be V*A*S*E’s biggest year yet.
