Swedish band The Rhymes follow up their acclaimed debut album release with a brand new track about isolation, Never Collide: - So many of us have been isolated for so long. And isolation breaks us down like a relation without intimacy breaks us down. Never Collide is a call for closeness, says Tomas Rimeika Karlsson, singer in The Rhymes. The song was finished in the middle of the pandemic last year, when the band instead of touring in Germany and Sweden, worked in the studio. - The song is about being so desperate for intimacy that you don't know what to do. Before the pandemic struck the Rhymes had played over 80 gigs in Germany, UK, Norway, Finland and Sweden and have been praised for their energy onstage and their melodies on their debut album. The singles from the album rotated on both Swedish and German radio. - All the gigs after our debut album release got cancelled and if our fans had not crowdfunded the recordings of our new songs I don't know what we had been up to today. The band was formed in a basement west of the river Fyris in Uppsala 2016, with the members—Erik Eklund, guitar, Johan Fasth, guitar, Oscar Lindeberg, bass, Adam Ehlert, drums and Tomas Rimeika Karlsson, vocals—coming from different parts of Sweden. The band started out playing in pizzerias and living rooms and have now played to almost 2 000 people at one of Sweden's most legendary venues, Cirkus in Stockholm. It’s a new decade.
