Founded in 1961, Bintangs is the oldest, still live performing band of the Netherlands. Starting as Indo-rock band. Developing their own style of rhythm & blues in '63, while growing their hair. First hit "Riding on the L&N" in 1969, followed by the bigger hit "Travelling in the USA" in 1970. After small band struggles, the band reformed with a few new members in 1975 and released the gem "Genuine Bull", which was recorded in Wales. From 1976 til the early 80's Bintangs had consistent run, playing lots of gigs and festivals, but said goodbye to fans in 1985 in a sold out Paradiso, Amsterdam. New spirit was found in 1990 forming a strong line up with Gus Pleines, Jan Wijte, Jack van Schie, Kees Brouwer and of course founder Frank Kraaijeveld. Recording various albums and touring tons of gigs. Unfortunately various personal drama saw a few members calling it quits. But the show must go on and new members were found. Members who are still recording and performing the past 13 years and are part of the new upcoming album: "These Hands". Bintangs are Marco Nicola, Burt van der Meij, Dagomar Jansen en Frank Kraaijeveld.
