Plagpul is a three-piece Filipino rock band that wields wit and humor to render political and social commentary on various issues in Philippine society through music. With Pol Torrente on bass/vox, Jay on guitars/vox and Peter Panelo on drums/vox, Plagpul makes the rounds in the indie music scene, from bar gigs to street protests to social media platforms — on which a number of their songs have gone viral to date. Among songs they have popularized online are the love song for activists “Pula ang Kulay ng Pag-Ibig,” the troll-lambasting “Apo Apologist,” and the parodic “I hate it when you call me terorista” against the so-called Anti-Terrorism Bill. They have independently produced three (3) albums, all available on Spotify. Plagpul is also a proud member of the Concerned Artists of the Philippines.
