With his 12th project THIS IS SOUL, Doc makes it clear why the late, great Luther Vandross sang on his hit song (She Loves You Back)... “This man is the Doctor, this man sure nuff is the Doctor. The first single, a remake of Beyonce’s giant hit Love On Top, was a hit a second time around and quickly climbed up Billboard’s top 20 smooth jazz charts where it stayed for 8 weeks. It was co-­‐‑produced with multi-­‐‑award winning producer James “Big Jim” Wright (Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson) and hot new music producer Daniel Moore. THIS IS SOUL features legendary pianist/composer/multi-­‐‑award winner Patrice Rushen, the original dream girl Ms. Jennifer Holliday, keyboard extraordinaire Myron McKinley, (E W & F musical director) and gospel sensation Nikki Ross (Kirk Franklin).
