Born in Apulia (Italy) in 1990, Erica Mou has always written and composed her own music, expressing herself with grace and sensual irony influenced by italian songs from the '60, folk music and art pop. Her debut album, È (produced by Valgeir Sigurðsson), was released in 2011 by Sugar. For this record she’s got a nomination for MTV Best New Generation. With the song Nella Vasca Da Bagno Del Tempo (arranged by Davide Rossi) Erica participated to Festival di Sanremo 2012, where she got the Critics’ Award and the award for the best lyrics. In 2014 she has been nominated for the Best Original Song at David di Donatello (Dove cadono i fulmini). In 2018 she published A ring in the forest written with MaJiKer and Piers Faccini. In the last years Erica wrote columns on several newspapers, she performed as music announcer, she acted small roles in italian cult movies and she recorded her first podcast "C’est la Mou - Punti di fuga”. She has been busy touring and performing in Italy, USA , Brazil, UK, France, Germany, Albania, Belgium. Her debut novel “Nel mare c’è la sete” (Fandango Libri 2020) will be published in Uk in Spring 2022. In 2020 she recorded the italian version of the Brazilian song Felicidade - Italian Version with Marcelo Jeneci. Her new album, Nature, in which she writes and sings in Italian, English and Apulian dialect, has been defined “a generational unmissable miracle”. She is currently touring embracing her guitar and using live electronics.
