Formed in 2016 in their native Japan, Lovebites is an all-female power metal outfit heavily influenced by metal masters of the west in their musical style and songwriting. Lovebites’ first release The Lovebites EP, mixed and mastered by Mikko Karmila and Mika Jussila known for their work with such bands as Nightwish and Children of Bodom, came out in May, 2017, soon followed by Awakening From Abyss, their first full-length album, in October. A new EP, Battle Against Damnation, saw its release in June, 2018. In the same month, the band was honored with the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards for the title of “Best New Band”. In August, 2018, Lovebites performed to headbanging crowds at Germany’s Wacken Open Air and the UK’s Bloodstock Open Air. They were back in Europe in November for a headlining tour, where they also spent time promoting Clockwork Immortality, their sophomore full-length effort, released in December, 2018. After having opened for Arch Enemy in China in March, 2019, they played in the summer at Download Festival in the UK and Spain, Graspop Metal Meeting in Belgium, and Summer Sonic in Japan. In November, they were invited to tour the UK with DragonForce and in December, opened for Halestorm in Tokyo. The year 2020 began with the release of Lovebites’ third album Electric Pentagram, packed with powerful metal with the five ladies shining in what they do. It entered Japan’s official sales chart in the Top 10.
