Mascot is a Midwest Emo & Alt-Rock band from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The band consists of Aiman on vocals/rhythm guitar, Zi on lead guitar/vocals, Izz on bass guitar, and Eli on drums. Drawing inspiration from emo and math rock scenes, Mascot creates complex, emotionally charged music that combines honest songwriting with raw emotion. The band took the local Malaysian independent scene by storm with their debut 4-track EP, Penutup, in March 2022. The introduction of Mascot’s stylistic approach to Midwest Emo captured listeners and paved the way for the band to produce their first album, Permulaan. Produced and released in just 2 months after Penutup, Permulaan was released in June 2022 to critical acclaim from fans and critics alike. The 10-track record delivers a punchy, lively, and diverse sound that captures the essence of youth.
