For Billi Royce, originality is a blessing. Since the Long Island native began releasing music, he’s emerged as one of hip-hop’s most talented young voices. The 21-year-old sings with an effortlessly unique high-pitched sound and has already built an impressive following, leaving him poised to grow in 2023 “After my first couple of songs, I realized that no one really has a voice like me right now,” he said. “It’s not like anything they’ve ever heard before.” Though Billi leaves an original mark, he hopes to carry on the legacy of those before him. The artist cites XXXTentacion and Juice WRLD as his biggest inspirations, their untimely deaths inspiring him to continue spreading his message. “As soon as X died, I realized how short life is...If I have a dream, I have to pursue it. I want to inspire in the way they did. I want to let people know that they’re not alone in whatever battle they’re fighting.” For the rest of 2023, Billi’s continuing to chase his dream. His newest song, “New Song,” was his first hit to go viral on TikTok creating him a platform full of newly found fans. “Without music, I wouldn’t be anything. I put a lot into my music because I know I’m going to be successful but also because I know that people are tuned in.”
