Biyografi

Sara Beck’s music has carried her far from her hometown of Ellicott City, Maryland – to arenas, theaters, and clubs all around the world. After 21 years of living in Nashville, Tennessee, Beck relocated to Lynchburg, Virginia in 2018, where she recently released her seventh project and first full-length album since becoming a Virginian: Sea of Sublime (2022). The album is a revelation in whisper and melody, Beck’s crystal-clear voice taking center stage, surrounded by driving synthesizers and lush harmonies. As a songwriter, Beck draws from the roots-folk traditions of Patty Griffin and Brandi Carlile, with a straightforward approach to storytelling. Sonically, she and her co-producer Park Chisolm (Kevin Costner & Modern West) favor ambient, atmospheric soundscapes that evoke Peter Gabriel and Daniel Lanois. The covers on the album highlight Beck’s pop and Americana influences. Her take on Prince’s iconic “When Doves Cry” is bold, given shape by the hypnotic yearning of Beck’s vocal. Her understated cover of Jason Isbell’s “24 Frames” shines a light on the Isbell’s apocalyptic lyrical exploration against a backdrop of swirling electric guitars.
During her lengthy stay in Nashville, Beck recorded five albums, wrote songs for major label artists, and toured throughout the US and Europe. Notably, she recorded the theme song "I Know These Hills" for Kevin Costner's Emmy-winning television mini-series Hatfields and McCoys and appeared onstage with Stevie Wonder.
