Mel Randall - The Ancient Mariner şarkı sözleri

Sanatçı: Mel Randall

albüm: Poetry in Music

I was on my way to a wedding feast
When I met an old old man
He begged me listen to his tale
Before the feast began
His eyes were black as coal
And his beard as white as snow
I found myself transfixed
While he reeled to me his woe.
We were sailing near Antarctica
To escape a deadly storm
When we sailed into a bank of fog
We thought we,d never get home
I saw a mighty albatross
And shot it for its meat
It flew three times around the mast
Then landed at my feet
The fog it went the sun came out
No wind to move us on
For eight whole weeks we never moved
And soon our food was gone
We saw a ship and hailed it
But our fears were yet to come
For it was a ghost ship manned by death
And soon our food was gone
I was the last one left alive
And wondered for my life
When suddenly the rain began
And thunder rent the sky
A crowd of angels raised the dead
And hurried us on our way
We made it back to England
Then the ship sank off whitby Bay
I'll never forget that mariner
And the tale believed by none
I never went to the wedding feast
But made my way back home
I often think of him to this day
Especially in the sun
And as the famous last words go
I'm a sadder but wiser man
Water water everywhere
The boards began to shrink
Water water everywhere
But not a drop to drink
