Vincent Niclo is a French tenor and film, television, and musical actor. His earliest formal training was as an actor. He studied at the Cours Florent, Simon, and Actors Studio schools. His first professional role was in Martha Vandenberg's Renaître à Bogota. Later he was featured in several French television series. After meeting Thierry Dran, he began formal vocal studies and became a member of the Paris Opera Company, starring in several musicals including the role of Jim Farrel in Titanic at Opéra Royal de Wallonie and Opéra d'Avignon; in West Side Story at Halle aux Grains in Toulouse; and as Valmont in the recorded version of the musical Les Misérables. Other roles included Tristan in Tristan et Iseult, both roles in Roméo et Juliette, de la Haine à l'Amour, and in Autant en Emporte le Vent as Rhett Butler. Niclo continued his classical vocal studies in addition to his work as an actor and musical performer. In 2006, he was part of a large group of singers and musicians -- nearly 200 in all -- for the gala Night of the Proms. He released his first solo album, Un Nom sur Mon Visage, later that year. Niclo's classical career as a tenor eventually landed him a spot as soloist with Russia's Red Army Choir under the direction of General Viktor Eliseev. He was featured during each each night of the group's French tour. In 2012, for his second album, he fronted the group on a collection of classical arias and French national songs. The collaborative album was released as Opéra Rouge in 2012 and charted in the Top Five in France. ~ Thom Jurek, Rovi
