    A hard-hitting heavy metal side project from Skillet frontman John Cooper, Fight the Fury eschews the faith-based, post-grunge sound of his flagship band for a heavier and more technically complex approach that draws inspiration from bands like Metallica, Dream Theater, and Megadeth. The idea to explore his heavy metal roots came to Cooper in the early 2010s while on the road with Skillet. He turned that notion into reality in 2017 with a lineup consisting of Skillet guitarist Seth Morrison, drummer Jared Ward, and guitarist John Panzer III.
