Music has been a significant part of Kawan’s life for as long as he can remember. As a child, he fell in love with music through church and was inspired by legends such as Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder, and Pharrell Williams. Kawan has been performing for almost all of his life, and says, “I’m a true musician. It’s what I eat, breathe, and sleep. I hear songs constantly in my head, so there’s no need to get into a headspace to produce the work. It’s who I am.” Kawan likes to create music by letting the melodies and lyrics come naturally.
