The average depth of the ocean is 12.100 feet or, if you're more of a metric person, 3688 meters. We basically know next to nothing about what's going on in the deeper regions of the seas across this globe. A great unknown – a dense black mass that is so broad yet it feels so claustrophobic to us once you dive. Funnily enough it's inhabitants know probably less about the creatures walking this planets solid soils and pretty much don't care about them either then we do know about their environment. Transporting the feeling of a world like that into a lyrical context to our societal structures may seem odd but if you take a moment and let that sink in you'll see what we mean. This is exactly why The Tidal Sleep chose the elements of water and the sea as it's main metaphor to transport most modern world life topics in their songs.
