Norwegian newcomer HALIE makes a stunning entrance into 2019 with vibrant pop track, Good Kids. Marrying the pop sensibility of Charli XCX and defiance of early Lorde, Good Kids sees HALIE lay her gorgeous vocals over a beat heavy arrangement, creating a track which cements her as an artist to watch as we move towards 2020. As tender as she is tough, nineteen-year-old HALIE, AKA Hannah Emilie Grung, sings with the raw edges of Amy Winehouse and all the soulful softness of the American rising star Yebba. In 2018, four singles – including the anthemic Youth and the defiant Not Yours – racked up hundreds of thousands of Spotify plays before she’d even left school. Then, as quickly as she captured the attention of the music industry, she fell silent again and lay low, finishing school and writing a clutch of new songs. Good Kids is the first to arrive from a project which serves as a manifesto for self-expression and emotional honesty. HALIE pleads for tolerance, or rails against ignorance, with an open heart and all the confidence of a cheeky schoolgirl. Written across Finland, Norway and created in her Bergen studio, HALIE has been working with some of Scandinavia's highest regarded talents on her upcoming EP, namely Emanuel Abrahamsson, who boasts Zara Larsson's Lush Life within his catalogue.
