The Soul Movers joined forces with Little Quirks, a band equally passionate about the glorious sounds of the 1970s, to create a rich with blood-harmonies, heartfelt tribute to the magnificent song that is true, Superstar- but also, as we found out on recording the lead vocal - originally a "Groupie". Released by its writers, Bonnie Bramlett and Leon Russell in 1969 - two years before The Carpenters' version - the earthy, soul-sister version is truly a passionate plea for women's recognition of their role in the music industry. Feminist theory aside, we hope the track washes over you where it matters - deep in your heart - where sad songs comfort and soothe most. So, be transported to a drive-along on a Californian coast or just enjoy in the comfort of your own motor vehicle or headset. Enjoy our velvety version of The Carpenters mega-hit “Superstar”; a combined "act of love" stretching over two generations of musicians; equally passionate about the sounds, aesthetics, and ultra-chic vibes of an era that truly, knew no bounds.
