In 1994, she received the Gaviota award from the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, España. During the next three decades, Guadalupe published a dozen of discographical productions and performed countless shows in different festivals, theatres and stages throughout America, Europe and Africa. In 2017, she received a Declaration of Cultural Interest from the Ministry of Culture of Costa Rica for the performance “Abril Se Fue”. In 2018, she received the recognition of the Association of Composers and Musical Authors of Costa Rica for her contribution in the compilation of the afro-metisse traditions of Guanacaste. That same year, Costa Rica’s national postal service commemorated Urbina’s career with the issuance of philatelic stamps. In 2019, the Costa Rica Film Production Center produced the documentary “Los Caminos del Amor”, based on the life of Guadalupe Urbina.
