Malaynah Elise Cordova (born July 4, 2000) is a rapper, singer and songwriter born and raised in Boyle Heights, California. At an early age she developed a love for various genres of music, being raised on vintage reggae like Steel Pulse and Barrington Levy and old school funk like Teena Marie & Rick James. However she truly embraced both old school and new school Hip-Hop and at age 12 she began writing songs and secretly rapping in her bathroom mirror. She attended Ramon C. Cortines School of Visual and Performing Arts in Downtown, Los Angeles where she studied classical music and received training in theory, sight reading, technical studies, history, and performance. Since her academy was heavily based in classical music, she would perform her original music outside of school at family gatherings. At age 16, she booked her first show at a small venue in Downtown, Los Angeles where she got a chance to perform some of her original songs. In late 2018 Malaynah posted on her Instagram page a freestyle rapping over the popular Cardi B single "Money" which quickly went viral, racking up 2M plus views after Cardi B herself, reposted it. Since then she has been performing and recording non-stop which eventually led her doing a joint venture for her own Eleven11 Records and independent powerhouse Empire Distribution. Her dream is to tell the world stories through her lyrics, inspire young woman and put Boyle Heights on the map!
