Swan Lingo is a Washington, D.C. based singer, rapper and multi-instrumentalist who has garnered a loyal following over the years through his unique and progressive lo-fi sound. His early independent releases and his debut LP “Wonder What”, released on WEDIDIT Records, showed tremendous range, jumping seamlessly from stripped down tracks like “Come This Way”, to rap leaning “Colan”, to the frantic new wave sounds of “Can’t See Your Face Anymore”, all of which have become touchstones to his fans. Nostalgia has always been a major component of Swan’s sound, and on his 2020 EP release “25 Minutes” and his latest LP “Ode To Life” he hones in on a unique take on R&B, lending heavily from the 90’s and 2000’s while retaining his signature lo-fi sound and stripped back, emotive melodies and lyrics. The vibe stays true to Swan’s unique angle and musical approach, while the melancholy lyrics and melodic runs evoke the hey day of R&B, creating a palette that is truly his own. Two major placements in the opening season of HBO’s “Industry” in 2020 exposed him to many new fans in the states and overseas. Swan continues to evolve and refine his sound, while always staying true to the melody and the feeling, choosing stripped down production and raw vocals over the excessively polished sound of some of his R&B contemporaries.
