Dutch multidisciplinary BEA1991 is playful and deliberately obscure in all her artistic pursuits. With little regard for convention, her creative output saunters through music, fashion and academia. Beginning her music career with two critically lauded EPs, "Good Thinking" and "Songs of 2k11", the collections, coupled with striking visuals, sparked an enchantment that feverishly rippled across the net. Over the following few years, BEA1991 split her time between Amsterdam, London and NYC, artistically experimenting, collaborating across disciplines and performing alongside Blood Orange, Kirin J Callinan and Chairlift. In 2016, Bea’s writing and vocals featured on Blood Orange's seminal "Freetown Sound". This was followed with an appearance on his 2018 track "Saint" and Porches' single "Find Me". Bea’s single "WDSG?" quietly let itself loose in 2018; later in the year, this was joined by standalone "V4". In 2019, BEA1991 released her debut album "Brand New Adult", co-produced with Liam Howe (Sneaker Pimps), Benny Sings and featuring Devonté Hynes. "Brand New Adult" rounds up to ten tracks that sway softly around the edges of yacht-pop and bedroom R&B. The title hints to Bea’s tongue-in-cheek nature, referencing ultimate comedy cynic Kurt Vonnegut. Accompanying the album, BEA1991 released an aggregation of conceptual visuals, including an art-documentary film for "My Own Heaven", shot by Jona Honer on the world's largest cruise ship in Miami.
