A sexy, poppy, sunny and relaxed brazilian electropunk duo from Brazil with an approach to new wave elements, into their own intentionally subversive surreal style. "A Fábula (ou a Farsa?) de Dois Eletropandas", the Lucy and the Popsonics' first album was released on Monstro Discos (one of the most important independent Brazilian label) in 2007 has been rated as one of the best promising act of the new Brazilian scene by the media at late 2000s. The Electro-punk music take them to big festivals around the world, including SXSW (USA), Fade In (Portugal), Terra (Brazil). Picked out in 2008 by Nacopajaz, the album was released in France, Portugal and Benelux. Touring the World, Lucy and the Popsonics has been seen at PopMontréal Festival (Canada) they’ve been considered by the influential VOIR magazine like one of the biggest revelation of the festival. They’ve also been to France with indie festivals like « Printemps de Bourges » and « Festival les Femmes s’en mêlent in Paris ». Their second album "Fred Astaire" was released in 2010. Produced by John Ulhoa, our Yoda behind Pato Fu, the album made that mix of nervous rock striked of major chords, with a linear but powerful bass on an Electro-pop base coming back to the roots (Kraftwerk, Devo). Despite the sweet voice of Fernanda Popsonic and the cute appeal of the band, Popload Magazine has rated The Popsonics live performance as the most heavy and brutal gig of the Brazilian Indie scene. 🤘
