STONE HORSES is an alternative rock band from the Mid-Atlantic area of the US, formed in early 2018. STONE HORSES is a band of old souls... guitarist Justin Parks knows his rock origins and history. From bluesmen Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters to Jimmy Page Hendrix, and Slash, Parks cites them all as influences. Singer John Allen draws on everything from the early Blues Pioneers to Chris Robinson and Chris Cornell. "We just want to make music that is timeless", states the singer. "Writing songs about the human condition is what I like to do. Love, hate, struggle and tenacity are themes I want to convey." Originally formed as a stripped down 2-man band, the duo added drummer Jason Heiser, after John felt too confined playing drums and singing. The band then added bassist Rick Reynolds to fill out the band’s sound. STONE HORSES’ first single “Reckless Ways”, released on their own Broken World Records, managed to chart on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Chart as well as BDS and Mediabase, and remained in the Top 40 for 7 weeks.
