    Samba Mapangala and his group Orchestra Virunga are one of the classic dance bands from the Golden Age of African music, on a par with the great African orchestras such as Afrisa, Baobab, Bembeya Jazz and Poly-rythmo de Cotonou. Known and loved for his astounding voice throughout East Africa and beyond for the last 30 years, Samba created an innovative mix of the best Congolese rumba and soukous with an earthier Kenyan style, hallmarked by delightful melodies, exuberant arrangements, irresistible rhythms.
