Kýbel Mačiek (Bucket of Cats) is based in Nitra, Slovakia. It plays a self-titled genre 'buranroll', which is a blend of double bass drum, rocknroll, mischief, malice, non-fancy folk, bass string B, wah-wah pedal and various topics one does not usually sing about. Warning! Includes profanity, ugly truth and moral s.! Founded in 2010 in Nitra, the four musicians gathered in a rather unfavorable rehearsal room made of wooden slabs and occasional concrete, writing their first songs, describing their easy-going rocknroll lifestyle , as well as addressing individual social and character issues. Having written enough material, they didn't bother recording a demo first and went straight for recording a regular album Vzbura Buranov including Rozjebem Byt (their all-time most successful track). The album was recorded in an semi-professional studio a friend's bedroom in 2012. Simultaneously the band starting touring in their home town Nitra and western Slovakia, learning what it takes to sustain a life on the tour. Having advanced from dreary little clubs to festivals stages, they played their best gig at Topfest festival in 2015, performing in front of a few hundred people. Encouraged by their early success, they had given up playing concerts in order to prepare for their second album Degenerácia, which was published in Dec 2016. Their sound had moved from a crude punk one towards alternative, taking advantage of various guitar effects and incorporating more rock genres.
