Perth indie emo rock outfit Sly Withers emerged in 2021 as one of Australia’s new favourite acts, thanks to the release of their second album 'Gardens'. The record debuted in the ARIA Top 10 albums chart, was named #5 in the triple j listeners' Album of the Year Poll, saw them make a triumphant appearance on triple j's Like A Version performing the Coldplay classic 'The Scientist,' and their single 'Clarkson' would go on to reach #69 in the triple j Hottest 100. They return in 2022 with the release of the heart-melting new single 'Passing Through,' which has picked up right where things left off last year. "I think 'Passing Through' feels like a step up on what we have done in the past and is your first taste of bigger things to come," says co-frontman, Jono Mata. "I wrote the bones for passing through at a time where I felt pressured to want something I was nervous about and didn't feel ready for. I think it talks about the idea that for various reasons goals can be misaligned and the pressure that creates between two people.” Sly Withers are set to round out an amazing 12 months when they perform at the iconic Splendour in the Grass festival in July, a true bucket list item for both the band and their fans that have watched them achieve so much in such a short period. And with more music on the not too distant horizon, it will be just the start of many more big things to come in 2022. 🍃🍃🍃
