Austrian songwriter and folk artist Joseph Charles Phaze is extraordinarily passionate about the cultural history of music and the evolution of musical writing. Having studied and analyzed different composers and styles of scoring, he started aiming at growing his own projects. Phaze’s debut single The Mountain Temple is a soundtrack-like orchestral piece with eastern Asian instruments and scoring. In March 2020, he joined a new internet trend covering modern pop songs “medieval style”. "Bardcore" being the name of this hype is also the title of his album, Bardcore (The First Manuscript) including covers of Queen, A-ha, the Gorillaz, Sia and many more. During Autumn 2020, Phaze continued his Bardcore work, including some special Halloween Bardcore covers and a few Piratewave songs. At the end of October, the new collection - Bardcore (The Second Manuscript) - was ready to be released. A lot of solo pieces like The Mountain Temple are in process now and Phaze is already working on a self-written, ambient Bardcore album.
