Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Haitian-American artist, David Saint-Val is not one to be overlooked. David started learning how to strengthen and utilize his voice in his church’s choir. He was always musically and artistically-inclined as a child, influenced by artists like Beyoncé, Chris Brown, Michael Jackson, and Usher (to name a few). In his childhood, he was the introverted and reclusive type who liked to spend most of his time alone. However, he always knew that eventually, he wanted to pursue something in the artistic field as an adult. It wasn’t until after he witnessed SZA perform live in 2017 that he decided he would try his own hand at being a singer/songwriter. He uploaded his first track “Where I Wanna Be” onto SoundCloud at only 16 years old. With his introspective, vulnerable style of songwriting and angelic vocals, he is sure to capture the attention of any listener. In March 2021, David released what would become his most recognizable single “Lie to Me”. Something is to be said about the unique way that he manages to find his own pocket, flow on any beat, and make it his own. It is as if he and the instrumental become one. His sound is fresh and organic. And this is only the beginning.
