When Norway’s Extol called a hiatus back in 2007, after touring the album “the Blueprint Dives” (Century Media) with bands like Mastodon and Opeth, leaving behind a Norwegian Grammy Nomination and 30.000 copies sold of the album, three of the members weren’t done yet. They changed the band name to Mantric, and released the critically acclaimed “the Descent” on Prosthetic Records in 2010. After the more experimental and demanding “Sin” in 2005 (Loyal Blood Records), Mantric are now finally ready to take the band several steps further. Their third album “False Negative” will be released 24th of April 2020. –More straightforward and accessible, while keeping the originality and creativity that these songwriters are known for, intact. Mantric will now without doubt reach out to a much broader audience than they have in the past. Good thing Solid State and Tooth and Nail Records got the chance to sign them, so that they could decide to make this happen.
