London-based Shaqdi is an outsider talent changing the rules of the game. The name comes from her Palestinian father, and the sound all her own – gorgeous future-soul on an electronic tip, channelling R&B influences as far apart as The Neptunes, Erykah Badu and the crucial Los Angeles beat crew Soulection Bringing her lyrics together from scraps of paper and endless voice notes on her phone, Shaqdi’s material is highly personal.
