Based in Bangkok, the enigmatic Cold Busted artist Fiendsh started DJ’ing at local clubs from the age of 13. Already enraptured by the beats, the young Fiendsh began to explore hip hop production near the end of his teenage years, soon releasing a pair of accomplished instrumental hip-hop EPs — Al Capone and Gold Pope. Fiendsh was quickly welcomed to the Cold Busted fam with his well-received full-length To The End and an appearance on the Bust Free 20 compilation. 2022 will find Fiendsh and Cold Busted releasing a second album, the tantalizing Hayashi Reborn. For the young Fiendsh these are still early days but he's constantly on the move, though at the pace of a phat downtempo rhythm. Fiendsh’s sound is filled with the vibe of exploration, sometimes subtly incorporating elements from his Thai culture and fusing them with influences from American soul, jazz, and hip-hop classics. The beats are often heavy in the mix, compressed to give that hybrid boom-bap/trip-hop feel. But there are also gentler moments where Fiendsh is pensive in mood and instrumentation, lush strings or swirls of piano taking hold of the listener. It’s not surprising to anyone besides Fiendsh that these songs have found an expanding audience. “I’d make music even if no one ever heard it,” says Fiendsh. “So I feel extremely grateful that others enjoy what I’ve created.”
