Sliime is a Sheffield based artist and producer of Bengali heritage, who is off to challenge the music industry by trying to put Bengalis and Sheffield artists in the spotlight through his shifting sound. Receiving cosigns from the likes of Stormzy, Headie One, DJ Target and Tiffany Calver, Slime is on a relentless mission to break barriers, climb the industry ladder and bring different South Asian influences to the UK wave sound. His “Wiley Flow” freestyle on Instagram made an impression on Stormzy, who recognised his “violent flow” in a post on his feed, and from there on Sliime continued to impress other big industry heads. Sliime gained a huge following for participating in Headie One’s ‘Pound Signs’ competition and received accolades from both the artist and Tiffany Calver for his sound and performance. In April he received support from DJ Target on his 1Xtra show where he played Sliime’s latest release called “Trendsetters”, and also gave him a shout out saying how much he liked the song. His recent release “The Hustle - Freestyle” is due to stir more reactions both from industry heads and other trapwave members as it incorporates English and Bangla, delivering them with an alert flow on a gritty, fast paced beat. Also, the viral lyric “oh yeah her dad’s in her yard like ‘please stop seeing that P**i’” will most definitely get the crowds going this summer.
