Affectionately dubbed AmaGoduka,The duo Leverage are Rappers & Songwriters that hail from Obonjaneni in Bergville but currently reside in Orange Farm Johannesburg. Evident in their suave use of isiZulu ,the pair draws its earliest sonic influence from prominent Maskandi Pioneers Mfaz'Omnyama & Thokozani Langa coupled with the late Urban Zulu Mammoth of innovation,Mama Busi Mhlongo .While grounded in Hip Hop ,The genres Mbhaqanga ,Isicathamiya , Maskandi & Indie/Folk music have become an integral element of influence in the duo's approach to music .In fact, their experience at Wanderers Taxi Rank which had been their father's place of employment for almost 2 decades informs their current musical palette.They burst through the scene in 2018 , 10 years after the group's inception, through a heartfelt song titled "isililo" and have slowly gained traction since then.Their catalouge beams of "Cothoza" candour infused into an eclectic approach of Rythm & Poetry .It is this ability to seamlessly transition from Hip Hop oriented form into African Sonic Poise that affords them an audience that is as hybrid as they come.Notable appearences from the duo include a feature in Big Zulu's Multi Award winning album ''Ichwane Lenyoka'' alongside Zuluboy,Forming part of the Internationally acclaimed Team Backpack Cypher Series & a feature on DJ Radix's IGNIUM EP alongside Maraza.They are set to release their new project in 2023 titled ITHEMBA LAMAVUKANE.
