Some songs, from the very first note, strike a chord with the listener. They immediately captivate and enrapture, and suddenly it feels as though the song has been around for a lifetime, new and old memories instantly associated with the melodies and hooks. From the very beginning, MDM Recordings Inc/Universal Music Canada country duo The Lovelocks (comprised of Ali Raney and Zoë Sparrow) have written and recorded tracks that do just that. Their latest single, the fun-loving “Staycation”, melds the duo’s soaring vocals and striking harmonies, celebrating the adage that life is what you make of it, whether sprawled out on a beach or cozied up in your bedroom with the one you love. “After a busy year of writing, touring, and working in the studio, we are excited to release ‘Staycation’ to the world. Over the past 12 months, we have been inspired by new sights and sounds, and have intentionally evolved our music to reflect the creative journey we have been on while keeping signature elements that we are known for, like fun harmonies! Ironically, this song was written in a Holiday Inn in our hometown of Toronto with our producer, Ben Glover. It shows a sassier side of us, and we hope it makes people want to throw their hands in the air and make the best of what they’ve got right in front of them!"<br>
