Yael Deckelbaum, is a platinum award- winning Israeli/Canadian singer/songwriter and activist. Her song “Prayer Of The Mothers,” which she originally wrote to support the Women Wage Peace Movement, went viral on social media. In the video, thousands of Palestinian and Israeli women unite in a winding march of hope in the desert sands of the Middle East. This visionary song subsequently turned into an international peace anthem. Shared by millions, it inspired women across the globe to get together and take action. Like Joan Baez and Pete Seeger, Yael has been recognized by many people as a groundbreaking musical activist of our time. With the streets as her stage and marching women as her crowd, Yael has led various women’s marches over the past two years in over 10 different countries -- from Europe to Asia and America to Africa. Yael performs with her ensemble "The Mothers" internationally throughout Israel, Europe and the USA, where she has become more and more active in using her music to inspire positive change and support non-violent communication between cultures that are in conflict, emphasising the necessity of women leadership. Inspired by her encounter with the women’s movements and recent events across the globe, Yael continued to write more songs for the women’s revolution, compiling them into the “Women Of The World Unite” album. The debut album of “Yael & The Mothers” is set to be released later this year.
