Known as one half of the Philadelphia-based Darkwave band School Dance, the Denver musician Allison Lorenzen's solo work under her own name explores a minimalist approach to acutely felt noise-pop and aching slowcore. Balancing a gossamer lightness in Lorenzen's voice and synthesizers with heavy guitar riffs under the influence of reverb-drenched shoegaze aesthetics, Lorenzen's work goes deep into exploring the totality of existence - peaks of unabated joy and valleys of anguish. Allison's first single "Vale" featuring The Flenser recording artist Midwife garnered high praise from The Big Takeover, Various Small Flames, Austin Town Hall and more. Her debut full length LP Tender is out this fall on Whited Sepulchre Records.
