Chancho en Piedra is a Latin rock band from Chile that formed in the early '90s by singer Eduardo Ibeas, guitarist Pablo Ilabaca, bassist Felipe Ilabaca, and drummer Leonardo Corvalán. Chancho en Piedra's first record deal came in 1995 when the band signed up to a local label called Alerce, releasing Peor Es Mascar Lauchas, co-produced by Gonzalo González. Chancho en Piedra participated in an event called El Nuevo Rock Chileno soon after. In 1996, the group was mentioned by the MTV Latino show Raizonica while its video "Socio" started being rotated. In November that same year, Chancho en Piedra was invited to a local music festival called Surf Rock Tour, playing in front of 50,000 people. During March and April of 1997, the band recorded La Dieta Del Lagarto. Later, Chancho en Piedra performed at Colombian's Rock al Parque. In 1998, the band signed up to Sony Music, getting one of its songs in a compilation called Copa de la Vida. Ríndanse Terrícolas was released in 1998, followed by Marca Chancho in September of 2000. ~ Drago Bonacich, Rovi
