Whats goodie… I’m Fritzwa. If you meet another person named Fritzwa, chances are they’re my aunt or my cousin. I grew up in the Lower East Side of NYC; created by two of the coolest West African’s the East Village has ever seen. My dad is from Ghana. My mom is from Sierra Leone. I’m a true city kid who started tinkering with tunes as a youth. It started w/ piano lessons… first classical, then jazz. We had all kinds of tunes playing in the crib. Quincy Jones, James Taylor, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, Frank Sinatra, Ebo Taylor, the soundtrack to the Sound of Music. Eclectic vibes filling the space then subsequently my subconscious and finally finding a way into my music. I can’t tell you what kind of music I make… depends on the day. I can say that my music is a reflection of how I see the world. I tell true stories & paint honest pictures of its people, particularly my people. I did all the things you’re supposed to do… got multiple degrees, had job jobs… like competitive career jobs but I’ve never been as happy as I am when I’m making melodies. So I gave all that up & life got extra challenging but, I kept at it; til one fine day Fifa used a tune I wrote… then Go Daddy, Nissan used another. Then about 40 other brands got hip. Crazy. Now the goal is to get you and your friends hip. So thank you for being here… there’s so much more to come <3.
