Neonomora (/'niːɒn-nōmôrɑː/; born Ratih Suryahutamy; May 16, 1988) is an Indonesian singer-songwriter, record producer, creative director, visual artist and graphic designer. Born in Jakarta and raised in a few different countries including The United States, China and Australia, the different cultural differences that she grew up with are denoted in the conceptuality and constant genre transformation of her albums and singles. Despite her statement on an interview that the singer is used to writing sad songs as a way of “singing the sadness away”, generally, her lyrics deal with various topics, including political issues and contain multiple references to general and pop culture. Additionally, having learned Javanese and Balinese dances for six years, she combined both cultures as part of her theatrical performances. Those references can also be seen in her visual work, which she considers the "crucial way of communication between the artist and the consumer.” Neonomora's sound has been described as a combination of various genres, including folk, indie rock, soul, R&B and electronic. Her vocals have a strong alto range and a good head voice soprano range. Neonomora met success in the beginning of 2013 and received praise across national and international media with her debut, 𝙎𝙀𝙀𝘿𝙎 (2014) in which she shows off her vocal prowess and the electro, folk, indie rock, dark pop, soul and R&B influences.
