Firehorse blend smoky vocals, gentle electronics, and ethereal accents for a Bird and the Bee-meets-Björk mix. Comprised of classical violinist and commercial songwriter turned singer Leah Siegel (Brooklyn Boogaloo Blowout, Citizens Band, and daughter of National Public Radio broadcaster Robert Siegel), guitarist Steve Elliot, bassist Tim Luntzel (Rosanne Cash, Loudon Wainwright III), and drummer Brian Wolfe (Sufjan Stevens, My Brightest Diamond), the Brooklyn-based band named itself after the Chinese zodiac sign of independence, assertiveness, and free spirit.
