I watched the evening draw in I watched the night time falling down Falling down, I got accustomed to the gloom Until the sun crept in my room In my room. And as the daybreak Fell flat on it's face The iron sky came creeping up behind To take it's place And the rain fell Like bullets from a gun And the sky came And swallowed up the sun So I buttoned up my coat And I want out for a walk Beneath the Iron Sky I felt the water in my shoes I saw the light cut through the gloom I stood atop the bridge And watched them creeping home Down the river road
