2016年、アイドルグループのメンバーとしてデビュー。 2018年に『週刊ヤングジャンプ』主催オーディション「制コレ18」にてグランプリを受賞し、 続く2019年には『週刊ヤングジャンプ』創刊40周年を記念した「SS ELEVEN」に選抜される。 また、2020年にはドラマ「君の名前を好きって書いた」にて初主演を務め、 2022年には自身初となるフォトブック『りんとして。』を発売。 2023年5月24日、TVアニメ『神無き世界のカミサマ活動』OPテーマ「I wish」で、 アニメやゲーム関連の音楽を中心に展開しているレコードレーベルLantisよりメジャーデビュー。 同作品でシアン役として声優デビューを果たした。 6年間アイドルグループのセンターを務め、アイドル、モデル、女優として様々な幅を広げてきた 来栖りんが"声優"そして"アーティスト"として新たなステージに挑戦していく。 Debuted as a member of an idol group in 2016.
