Nya and Andre decided to join creative forces in 2007 to give birth to Kandia. July 2008, they entered the studio to record their first EP - “Light” with Daniel Cardoso (ANATHEMA) as producer. The EP was officially launched in October. “Light” had excellent reviews. May 2009, Kandia entered the studio to record their debut album “Inward Beauty|Outward Reflection”. January 2011 “Into Your Hands” got exposure on MTV’s Headbangers Ball. Eager to continue the long-lasting relationship with producer Daniel Cardoso, he steps into the writing process of Kandia’s new album “All is gone”. The album was officially released on May 27th 2013. The band was forced to stop due to a health issue concerning Nya. This personal health issue delayed a new release but September 2016 would see the return of the band to the big stages when they opened for Nightwish at the Lisbon Coliseum. In 2017 Kandia released two new tracks to celebrate the bands' Anniversary. The songs would later on be added to a re-mastered version of their first EP in 2018. By the end of 2019 Kandia banded once again with Daniel Cardoso to begin writing a new album. May 2020 marked the return of KANDIA to the music world with the release of the song “4 Walls” right in the middle of the pandemic. Shortly after, they submitted their music to FRONTIERS RECORDS and were offered a multi-record deal. The songwriting continued and the album was finished in May 2021.
