“I write songs so that others to realize that they, too, can thrive despite the worst circumstances.” – CYPRSS Rochelle (aka CYPRSS) studied Songwriting at Belmont University in Nashville, TN where she is based. Unsure of her place in the music industry, she took a leap of faith and formed a band of local musicians to perform in a Belmont Showcase. She discovered a passion for performing her music and never looked back. Since then, she has released 4 singles and an EP under the name Cypress & Co. In her live shows, she combines lyrical depth with high energy Alternative Pop and passionate vocals. Now CYPRSS is stepping out as a solo artist with an 80’s-inspired dark pop single “Mortal” coming 11/03/20. Inspired by artists like Twenty One Pilots and Billie Eilish, she writes music about her personal experiences, often covering themes of mental health issues, love, and loss. Her signature song “Underworld” dives into a place of “ice-cold terror”, describing the experience of someone in the midst of deep depression and anxiety. CYPRSS “envisions it becoming an anthem of the anxious as we learn to thrive despite our condition.” The song was featured on the Pop Song Professor YouTube channel and has since gained over 800,000 streams on Spotify. It is the mission of CYPRSS to create music that empowers listeners to grow strong in the face of adversity.
